OT Staff nurse, Job in Hyderabad
Job Description
Prepare the operation theatre, sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment before procedures. Perform surgical hand scrubbing and maintain strict aseptic techniques. Assist surgeons and surgical assistants by passing instruments, sutures, and other required materials. Check surgical instruments, sterile packs, and equipment before surgery. Perform instrument, needle, and swab counts before, during, and after surgery in coordination with the circulating nurse. Maintain the sterile field throughout the procedure. Anticipate the surgeon’s requirements during surgery. Handle specimens appropriately and ensure correct labeling and handover. Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and biomedical waste management protocols. Report instrument defects, sterility breaches, and other safety concerns promptly. Assist with OT turnover, instrument decontamination, and preparation for the next case. Maintain accurate records and comply with hospital policies and patient safety standards.Location
